Japanese New Year’s Greeting Cards

One of Japan’s new year traditions is sending New year’s greeting cards to Family, relatives, friends and colleagues to express their gratitude.

These Greeting cards not only express your gratitude, but also enable you to win prizes in New year’s lottery.
So, if you have already received a New year’s card which is printed by Japan Post, take a look at you postcard’s backside. You can find a six-digit number on the lower right hand corner. It is a lottery number.
Prizes will be announced in mid-January. If your card number matches any of announced numbers you are a winner of a prize which might be cash, household items such as TVs or laundry appliances, food etc.
