Coming-of-Age Day in Japan

“Coming-of-Age Day” or “Adult’s Day” is a Japanese national holiday called “Seijin no Hi”.

It is annually held on the second Monday of January.
It is a day to celebrate those who have newly become 20 years old or will become 20 years old and reach the age of maturity by the April 1 of the current year.

Local government hold ceremonies, and mostly girls appear in beautiful kimonos and boys in hakamas or suits.
This year it was celebrated while performing coronavirus prevention measures.
